Bicyclists will find the Presque Isle Trail system provides an exceptional variety of riding experiences, primarily along paved backroads. Located along the Wisconsin-Michigan border, this trail system runs over 100 miles into Michigan through some of the most beautiful lake country in the Midwest. Parking is available at the Presque Isle Community Building.
This route starts at the Presque Isle Community Center where you can park in the parking lot, visit the library, community gardens, Shanty Boy Cemetery, and the Presque Isle Nature Trail. Follow Main Street to the intersection of County Roads B & W. On County Road W follow the bike trail crossings and signs on the pavement. Enjoy a loop around Pipke Park’s South Pond; then follow our quiet back roads and established bike lanes on the side of the county highway. One 4.25 mile route ends at Wilderness Park on Presque Isle Lake, a great picnic area to enjoy. view website >
This 1,300-acre mix of public and private property is a silent sports mecca – with development and growth still in the works. The site features one of the region’s only purpose built single-track mountain biking (MTB) trails. Trails are designed and built as a Midwest destination site – top notch – and to international standards. Currently there are 7 miles of MTB with more to come. Hikers and trail bikers are welcome with 5+ miles of each available. Rolling topography and unique ecology make this a blast to recreate in, and the site has proven attractive to wildlife with sightings including moose and badger.
