We loved our stay at Sunrise! We are a family of 4 plus our dog. This place was PERFECT. The cabin has all the necessities, is clean, a good size, and very comfortable. The screened-in porch is really nice too.Sunrise has EVERYTHING: private parking spot right outside your cabin door, small sandy beach for making sand castles; floating raft for swimming; docks with paddle boards/kayaks/canoes, green grassy areas for relaxing in the sun/sitting around the fire pit; rocky shoreline for fishing; well-equipped game room (which came in handy on a rainy day); fishing boat/pontoon rentals available; very close to WinMan mountain biking trails and other paved biking trails; close to several family-friendly restaurants too. Host was super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed getting to know his family a little bit while we were there. Presque Isle Lake is quiet, clear and beautiful. We enjoyed the cabin in the summertime, but I imagine the fall colors would be AMAZING. Presque Isle is close to Manitowish Waters and Boulder Junction, and was an easy drive to see the many waterfalls in Ottawa National Forest in Michigan. We are already planning our next trip to Sunrise!

First visited this resort in June of 2017, been back many times! Modernized, clean, and perfectly setup for the perfect getaway from daily stresses. The staff loves the outdoors and it’s transparent with the way they treat their clients. Oh and the fishing in the surrounding areas wasn’t too bad either (world class bass and muskie fishing)! Being able to rent a fully rigged an boat is something hard to come by. Made it easy to just fly in instead of dragging a truck and trailer. Thanks for the great experience Sunrise Resort!

This place was awesome. Rustic charm. The owner is awesome. He is great with communication and the resort lives up to its name. The sunrise is amazing. Late night dusk cruises on the lake are gorgeous and lots of wildlife to see. Scott took us for a guided fishing trip and delivered exactly what we asked for. I’d highly recommend this place to stay for anyone looking for a true feeling Northwoods getaway.

Definitely make it a point to visit the North Woods and Sunrise Resort for the fall colors. This resort is the perfect quiet getaway with amazing views. We had the perfect 2 days of hiking and fishing. Scott took us out on the lake and we were able to see him catch a couple of walleye! We ended our evening in the community area with a drink by the fire. I will definitely be making it back to enjoy a summer weekend at Sunrise Resort!

Scott and his team do an amazing job at running this place and the fishing is great! Just listen to what Scott, Cletus, and Reed tell you to do (or even better book them for a guided trip) and you will surely get on some nice fish on Presque Isle. They also have tons of knowledge about surrounding bodies of water and can point you in the right direction for whatever species you are looking for. I can’t recommend this place enough if you are planning on a northwoods fishing trip!

Stayed in cabin 4. The cabin was very clean, and perfect for a little get away. The screened in porch with a beautiful view of the lake had to be one of my favorite things!
There is a little beach area and small launch where I was able to get out and kayak fish a bit. Can’t wait to come back up sometime to enjoy waking up to those beautiful sunrises!
